Well I gotta say, these folks were pretty damned lucky... Had this bookmarked for a while, but forgot to post it. MSNBC says:
Five of six people in this minivan walked away with just bruises after plunging nearly 400 feet last Saturday in Colorado. The sixth person was carried out on a stretcher but, like the others, was at home that night.
Unbelievable... Black Ice and no guardrail. One of the people said "I thought we were done for..." - NO SHIT!!!!!
"I tried to brake and nothing happened," Sullivan told NBC's "Today" show on Tuesday. "As we first started down, we thought that was the end," he said. "But as we kept going further and further and realized nothing got us, nothing got us, nothing got us, there was a lot of hope and we just wanted to stop."
They figure that the fact that they were driving fairly slowly and the ravine they plummetted down was covered with thick snow probably helped save them...
