    Saddam Who? What? Confessed?

    Stardate 4522.7

Remember when... there was this guy that the President and his dad didn't like. He was a bad guy, and he had a lot of Oil. So the President packed up a hundred thousand troops to take away his power and his oil. Well, many years later, the power is still not on for half the country, and the oil, well the price has gone through the roof.

But what happened to the bad man? The President has his "prize" but seems to have forgotten about him for some time. I would think that the "trial" would have been much quicker, unless they wanted to draw out the process for the public and the media... Of course, the latter can't be true since no-one has heard anything about Saddam in many months, until maybe yesterday. There were reports that he had confessed to about war crimes and crimes against humanity, but it would seem that today, all of this has been denied. There was no confession to the new Iraqi President yesterday at all. In fact, Saddam's lawyers are saying he was assaulted in court, and the investigations do not implicate Saddam at all! Well, now.

I also noticed the sparse coverage on the news about the supposed confessions... Perhaps they are waiting for a more appropriate time, like in 3 days, on September 11th. That way, when Saddam's face is plastered all over the news, it will be alongside the 9-11 memorials, and the President will have another chance to lie to his country about the connection between the two, and how all those good ol' boys from Arkansas gave their lives to fight the War on Terror...
