Your 2005 - 2006 Montreal Canadiens
The NHL pre-season is over. The teams have all gone through the training camps, and the make or break show of skills that help set the scene for the new season. Montreal has announced their line-up for the new season and surprisingly, there is a rather large amount of rookies playing this year. I am optimistic that Theodore will be strong as usual, and Kovalev will worry about his sore hand after dumping the puck out of the zone this time :) I am also thrilled to see that the Ribeiro/Dagenais connection is still there, as well as seeing Ryder inked. Should be a good season for the Habs, as long as the work ethic remains that was evident the last season.
22 Steve BéginThe 6 rookies on the team are goalie Yann Danis who will be backup until Huet is recovered from an injury, Chris Higgins, Alexander Perezhogin, Tomas Plekanec, Raitis Ivanans and Mark Streit. Ivanans is a tough guy through and through, and Streit, who is 27, was the captain of the Swiss national team.

The new team boasts a lot of speed and talent up front and should do pretty good this year. It is a shame I don't have cable but I am optimistic that I can get CBC in okay with the help of some form of rudimentary antenna. I am not jumping up and down with excitement, but it has indeed been a long time since I saw my team play. So yeah, I guess I am looking forward to the new season :)
